Scott Ryan is a Managing Director and Oxford Investment Fellow® at Oxford Financial Group, Ltd. Scott serves as a member of Oxford’s investment team, with a focus on sourcing, evaluating and monitoring alternative and private market investments. Drawing on his institutional investment background, he contributes to manager due diligence, portfolio construction and investment strategy across private equity, venture capital, real assets, hedge funds and related opportunities.
Prior to joining Oxford, Scott served as Senior Director of Investments at the Indiana University Foundation, where he helped oversee a meaningful share of the Foundation’s approximately $3.8 billion endowment for over 11 years. He led sourcing, in-house due diligence and general partner relationships across global buyouts, early-stage venture capital, real assets and hedge fund strategies. Over his tenure, he completed numerous fund and co-investment commitments and oversaw substantial commitments and net asset value.
Scott also served as sole portfolio manager for the Foundation’s operating pool, overseeing investments across fixed income, credit and hedge funds. Separately, here presented the Foundation on the investment committee overseeing Indiana University’s approximately $3 billion operating pool. Earlier in his career, Scott was an Associate Portfolio Manager at Schwab Private Client, where he was recognized as a Chairman’s Club Winner.
Scott earned both a Bachelor of Science and a Master of Business Administration from Indiana University. He is a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA charterholder) and serves as Chair of the Institutional Advisory Panel of the CFA Society Indianapolis.
Scott lives in Indianapolis with his wife, Laura, a Professor of Business Law at Butler University, and their three daughters. Outside of work, he enjoys travel, running and golf and is a longtime fan of Indiana University athletics.
