Harnessing Technology to Support Our Clients

Partnering with some of the industry’s leading technology providers offers us an effective way to create efficiencies, increase security of data and support client relationships. And, by forging alliances with third parties, we can leverage specific expertise to improve the client experience.
In 2017, we partnered with Envestnet Tamarac, a provider of integrated, web-based portfolio rebalancing, performance reporting and customer relationship management software. Clients will soon have access to a secure portal that allows them to store confidential information such as trust documents, insurance policies, tax statements and custodial statements from multiple financial providers in one secure location. In giving clients the ability to control who can access this information, we are allowing for broader collaboration between advisors and clients.
Pershing represents another example of a strategic partnership. Last year, we chose Pershing to serve as our preferred custodian. This relationship leverages Pershing’s 75-year history supporting wealthy families with the financial stability of their parent company, BNY Mellon. It also provides us with access to robust technology, including the data integration capabilities of NetXInvestor—which provides clients 24/7 online access to investment accounts. Clients can access balances, portfolio holdings, account activity, tax and cost basis information and more.
Through Pershing, clients can also access an asset management account that offers a consolidated view of finances and maximum financial flexibility. The Corestone Account can save you time, reduce paperwork and make it easier to track and manage money by combining cash management and investing in one place.
Harnessing effective technologies that drive efficiency and improve security are evidenced in our recent adoption of DocuSign, an electronic signature technology. DocuSign allows you to sign documents electronically and securely from a smartphone or tablet. Forms upload immediately after being signed, significantly reducing processing time. Clients are increasingly finding this tool to be a more efficient and secure alternative to paper.
Finally, we are accommodating the needs of busy clients through GoToMeeting—a web conferencing system—as a way to accommodate clients traveling within or outside the country. We have found that virtual meetings can be an efficient way to stay connected with clients, harnessing the power of web-based technology.
